Dear List,

The attached is a very very messy OmniGraffle that begins our attempt to sort out a number of axes no fewer than
- in the cloud versus offline
- preferences the user wants to persist versus those that are more ephemeral 
- and something related to quickness and usability -- in other words, why would someone choose one tool to change prefs over another and also why would someone choose to persist a change versus let it be session-specific.

It is a very very messy start, but this is how we are sorting out our thinking of UIO in the context of Cloud4All.

I'm attaching the original OmniGraffle for those who want to edit and also a PDF for those who just want a peek at the mess.
