[GlobalPreferences] PGA design: 3 ways to generate preferences

Gregg,

I wonder if you could clarify a little by explaining the abbreviations you're using (mm and mini-mm). This thread stretches across 3 communities and we probably have some people who aren't familiar with the terms and abbreviations.
