Hi everyone,
The results of Decapod's second round of paper prototype usability testing
has been posted to the wiki: http://wiki.fluidproject.org/x/04aI
6 users were tested in total and each test taking about 45 minutes to 1
hour.
The results are pretty unanimous:
- Export and Save interaction is unclear and sometimes painful.
- Expand button was ambiguous in appearance and label. Unclear what is being
expanded.
- "Magnify all" function has questionable usefulness and was confusing to
users.
- Zoom function useful, but needs better visual cues to extra functionality
that is otherwise hidden.
The next steps will be to take a more critical look at the results and
determine if a 3rd round of testing is required, or if improvements can be
made without having to do another round.
After doing testing using Balsamiq, I think I will be writing a blog entry
about my experience using a computer to do "paper prototype testing" instead
of using physical paper cut-outs.
- Jonathan.
