DIA brochures - SVN setup for new SFU Team members?

Hi Vicki!

There are many other different client applications like Versions that
can connect to a SVN server to access our Fluid repository. I'm
thinking it would be better to find the Windows-friendly version of
"Versions". I think it might be a hassle to be committing files under
one account. And keeping our accounts separate will keep everyone's
own names on the files, and that's always a plus.

On the "Subversion for Fluid designers" page, someone has thought to
include a recommendation for Windows users. It is SmartSVN
(http://www.syntevo.com/smartsvn/index.html)

So I would go with that one! Personally, I dont know too much about
that one, but in principle it will work similarly to Versions, with
the idea of "checking out" a "repository" and "updates" to retrieve
and refresh files, while doing "commit" to contribute changes to the
files in a repository.

If you download SmartSVN and it seems familiar to you, then great!
But if not, I would be happy to check it out myself and write up a
quick tutorial. Also, I'm willing to believe that there are many
experienced SmartSVN users here on the list who can help you out.

Some other things that could help you:
http://wiki.fluidproject.org/display/fluid/Subversion+for+Fluid+designers,
and James's email, titled "Central Fluid design repository proposal (+
"what's svn?" for designers)"

Ok I hope that helps. Let me know how it goes! If anyone has any
suggestions, feel free to add them!

Alistair
