Interesting...there is a group at University of Manchester studying 
whether adding ARIA improves Web page accessibilty.  The email thread 
can be found here:

Does Fluid have any connections with Manchester (anyone from Manchester 
reading this)?  Could Fluid learn something from this; in particular, 
how adding ARIA to Fluid components helps vis-a-vis accessibility?  For 
that matter, could such a study be part of the user design toolkit in 
some way?
