[Design Pattern] Sliding Date Picker

I think this is a superb bit of design. It could use a bit of tuning,
but the speed and ease with which I could specify a pair of dates
really impressed me. It was easy to learn how to use it through
tinkering: the visual feedback seemed obvious.

In its current form, its only useful for a predetermined range. I
wonder if adding a second slider to adjust century/decade/year would be
an enhancement or a complication.
