Hi Allison
> 1) How are institutions using the Account tool?
The account tool isn't relevant to us at Cambridge as we get user info from
our central sign-on system.
> 2) How are institutions using the Profile tool?
We actually find the Profile has a negative effect - people think they can
change their user details here which for our system they can't. We plan to
remove the Profile tool from My Workspace and allow people to put it into
Course Sites if they actually wanted it there - this was because the profile
tool is mainly used for people to give course-related profiles, such as what
their prior experience of a subject has been. Eventually we'll need to have
changes to Profile so that you can have a profile on a site by site basis,
as students studying a language are asked to write a profile in the
appropriate language to share with the rest of the class.

Please make sure that account and profile can still be hidden!
Hope this is useful
Harriet
