I'm curious to hear Mike's thoughts on the issue, but I do think it 
matters, for exactly the point you make.

I can't remember off the top of my head; does the FireFox accessibility 
toolbar make checking for Alt text easier? We may have to recommend this 
for Mac users who can't cheat with tooltips in IE. :)
