This diagram does confirm what I understood from some back-and-forth  
with Antranig yesterday morning, and hopefully it will help other  
people looking at the code to understand why it is the way it is :-)

A question before I modify the wiki page:

The 'Refactoring the Gallery' section says that we created a  
LightboxEvolver. This is now LightboxProducer, right? We're not  
planning to convert that to an evolver?
