I just tried 'cut'ing a folder in the Mac OS X Finder, and you  
can't.  The functionality is not provided at all. You can copy and  
paste a folder, or 'duplicate' it (which does the copy and paste in  
one action), or delete it, but not cut it. Same with documents like  
Word docs, images, HTML files - in the Finder, you can't 'cut' them.
